Board Certified Neurosurgeon and Specialist in Neuro-oncology and Skull Base
I am a board certified neurosurgeon, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery who specializes in the treatment of skull base and other cranial pathologies including pituitary adenoma, meningioma, glioma, vestibular schwannoma/acoustic neuroma, and other lesions. I use cutting edge tools such as stereotactic neuronavigation, awake and asleep cranial mapping, and endoscopic techniques. I also perform surgeries on the spine and spinal cord using minimally invasive and open approaches. My research aims to better understand neuro-oncological diseases and improve patient outcomes with our results regularly featured at national neurosurgery meetings. My goal is to always find the right surgical approach for each patient and focus on reducing surgical risk. I have performed over 2000 surgical procedures in the brain and spine.
Skull base lesions, including pituitary adenomas, meningiomas, vestibular schwannomas, and sinonasal tumors, are among the most challenging to treat in the body which require great patience and care to treat.
Brain tumors, such as gliomas, meningiomas, and metastatic cancers, are a devastating diagnosis for patients and require a deep understanding of both surgical and non-surgical treatments.
Spine pathologies, such as degenerative disease and tumors, are challenging diseases requiring a variety of different approaches to treat.
Through clinical and translational research in the operating room and laboratory, I continue to focus on improving understanding of brain and spine pathologies.
I am always on the look out for cutting edge technology in the treatment of neurosurgical diseases and help to develop better surgical techniques.
Educating the next generation of healthcare providers is a key part of giving back and ensuring the field of neurosurgery progresses.
Serving as a peer-reviewer for neurosurgical journals and committee member for several national neurosurgical organizations is important to further the field.
